I’ve known Brian Ambrose for many years because we are both professional photographers. I only met his son Tyler last year and I knew I wanted to photograph the two together for this exhibit. Brian is a single dad raising an adult son who has many challenges but watching him interact with Tyler with such love and compassion and a little rough housing, is truly inspiring. Thank you Brian for agreeing to be on the other side of the camera and to be a part of the Fathers Who Inspire exhibit, today from 2:00 till 4:00.
You are an awesome dad and I know Tyler loves you.
“When Tyler was born, he was a very happy and healthy boy. At about six months old, Tyler had his first seizure. He was hospitalized and diagnosed with seizure disorder. This disorder caused brain damage at a very early age. For the first few years of his life, Tyler would undergo steroid shots twice a day, physical and occupational therapy. It wasn’t until about five years old that Tyler was diagnosed with Autism. Despite his condition, Tyler lives a very full life.
Tyler is 27 years old and is so full of life and energy. He keeps me on my toes and has taught me so much. I am proud to be his dad and lucky to be his best buddy.” Brian Ambrose
After the session, I even got to massage Tyler with his special blue rubber gloves. Actually, I had no choice since Tyler put the gloves on my hands and messed up my hair:) Oh well, all in a days work!
