Mothers Who Inspire Exhibit

May 10, 2015 By Lynn Leave a Comment

“The bond between mothers and their children is one defined by love. As a mother’s prayers for her children are unending, so are the wisdom, grace, and strength they provide to their children.” George w. Bush

This quote is perfect for this years group of Mothers Who Inspire.

My life experiences are the motivation for this photographic project. I have a deep respect for mothers of special needs children stemming from being raised alongside my sister Jane, who was born with Down Syndrome and as a grandmother of a granddaughter diagnosed with Autism.

I am compelled to celebrate and capture that unending love.

It was an honor and privilege to photograph these mothers with their children. Thank you for letting me into your world for a brief moment and sharing your stories with the community. The event last Saturday was extremely emotional and uplifting for all who witnessed it. I hope to find a way to share each mothers complete story in my blog or on my website or even in a book.

“I would like to thank Lynn for pulling this exhibit together and taking the time to recognize moms like me and all the other beautiful moms and their special children. When Annalee was a baby I chronicled every ounce she gained, every inch she grew, every tiny little milestone she achieved. I wrote letters to her telling her how much I love her and what she meant to me, all my hopes and dreams for her to be happy and to know love. I keep them all in her baby journals which are tucked away in her hope chest. As she got older and things became less fragile but more complicated and busy, I stopped tracking every little thing. Participating in this exhibit has made me stop, look at how far we have come and appreciate all that we have.

The photos capture so much love — what a wonderful gift you have given me.

Thank you Lynn Damon!” Susan and Annalee

Thank you to all who came out to celebrate these mothers and your generous donations to

Autism Services & Resources Connecticut .

We raised a little over $1,000 and you still have time to donate.

Happy Mothers Day to all!
