The Fathers Who Inspire exhibit is almost here and I can’t wait to share all the beautiful portraits of all the dads with their children. I met Jake and Tyler a few years ago when I photographed them with their mom, Heather for The Mothers Who Inspire exhibit in 2014. They were sweet boys then and they are just as sweet today. Mike is a dad that does so much for his family and for others in the special needs community. He runs the Glastonbury SEPTA, it is a PTA within the Glastonbury, CT school district bringing together people who are interested in supporting and collaborating on special education issues and children with special needs. It’s a great group and I learn so much every time I attend a meeting.
I hope you can join me to celebrate Mike and the other fathers and meet all their beautiful children.
“Raising two children with special needs is not an easy journey and the road changes all of the time.
Having Jake and Tyler has taught me to accept what I can’t control, yet accept the unexpected. Although it is not easy, they have taught me to rise to the occasion, as they must do each day.
We may not have control over everything in our lives, but we can and will try to help others in the community along the way.” Mike DeFosses
