Last weekend I was sworn in as the Connecticut Professional Photographers Associations president. I was president in 2004 and had to resign, due to living in Italy in 2005. Now I’m back and was asked to be president for the coming year. When I was on the board in the 90’s and early 2000’s it was easy to help out because everyone wanted to participate. Today our organization needs a leader that will get the respect he or she deserves. I’m ready to take on this position and help CTPPA keep growing. Wish me well!
I also, entered the CTPPA Annual Competition with 6 of my portraits and walked away with the highest scoring print and the Master Court of Honor for “Dreaming of Love” and the highest scoring print case. I was also thrilled to be awarded a Judges Choice and the Peoples Choice award for “Tools of his Trade”. A portrait I created at Dondero’s Farm of Eddie Dondero last Spring. I’ll submit 4 of my top scoring images to the PPA New England Regional competition in April. If They score high and “merit” they go on to the PPA National competition. I’ll post about the results in April. Why do I enter competitions? Because it makes me a better photographer and I love it!
