I have a love/hate relationship with Facebook but that’s how I reconnected with Guy, whom was a close friend with my brother, Scott, back in high school. I kept seeing happy and fun photos of him and his children online, his 2 beautiful daughters and his sweet son Nico. Because of these photos I knew I wanted to ask Guy if he would be interested in being in the Fathers Who Inspire exhibit. Please join me on Sunday, from 2:00 till 4:00 at the Congregational Church in South Glastonbury to honor Guy and all the other amazing Fathers.
“As Nico’s condition worsened, Diane and I decided to get him tested one more time. At the age of 15, Nico, our entire family and myself discovered he had an extremely rare condition called
MECP2 Gene Duplicate Disorder.
We take a lot of things for granted and it’s hard to picture how difficult our lives would be if we didn’t have the things we have. Nico is a daily reminder of how lucky we are to have the abilities that we have. I thank God everyday day for keeping him alive a day more on this planet. Nico has taught me how to live a life full of sacrifices, love and to stay strong at all times. I am blessed to have him as a son for he has shown me the true meaning of life and how precious it is.
Nico makes this world a better place and I am, who I am today because of him.” Guy Piccolo
We will be collecting donations at the event for our new non profit
Rob Bedini is definitely a Father Who Inspires and Sarah Bedini is one amazing Mother who definitely inspires all of us . Many of my friends have been following the progress of our girl Taylor since last year when she went thorough 5 different surgeries to help her calm her seizures. We continue to pray for Taylor and both of her parents to continue to fight this fight so she can regain her life back. Please join me to honor Rob and the other Dads who strive to be the best that they can be for their children and themselves.
“With Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, things can change at the drop of a dime, for better or for worse. We’ve had our share of times where things haven’t gone as planned but we never give up hope. Taylor’s laugh, smile, and love keep us moving forward and remind us that everything is going to be ok. It’s sometimes hard for me to grasp how someone so young, that has been through so much, can be so happy and full of joy. Taylor’s strength, resilience, determination, and incredible spirt inspire me every hour of every day.”
Please join me in one week on Sunday June 19th from 2:00 till 4:00 for The Fathers Who Inspire exhibit and meet Annalee and her Dad John. When I met Annalee a year ago for the 2015 Mothers Who Inspire exhibit, I met a new friend for life! Annalee is a bright light and a sweet angel that brings happiness and love to all she meets. I’ve known her Mom, Sue since high school and then meeting her Dad, John Hughes was like meeting an old friend. I was in awe how they skied on the mountain together and the joy on Annalee’s face, it was priceless and inspiring.
Thank you for letting me capture your love for each other.
“There are everyday challenges due to her mobility issues but they have not stopped Annalee from pursuing everything she wants. We ski together, we dance together, we travel together, we laugh together. As she gets older she seems to push difficulties outside with her endless determination and positive attitude. I suppose I help steer some things in certain directions, but most of her inspiration comes from within.
So, thank you Lynn for the photos and time to reflect. And thanks to Annalee and Sue, for you are truly my inspiration.” John Hughes
